Why I Still Blog, Despite Instagram

Maintaining my blog has gotten harder and harder to do as years go by. I started this blog in 2009, when this was the only real platform I had to freely share my ideas, outfits, inspirations and anything I can think of. I also started this when i was a naive, college student and back then I thought when I finish school i would actually have more time to keep blogging. Maaan, i was so wrong. After I graduated fashion school, I opened up my first boutique at age 22... then real life happened. Ikr?

I guess the real reason why I still keep my blog going is that i dont feel the need or the pressure to schedule a post or creatively curate it as much as Instagram. I can just leave and come back here whenever i feel like it. This has always been a safe place for me and even when i lose track of that from time to time, i still come back to its main purpose. I still manage to keep this place as personal as possible. Which means a little less advertising- and 100% keeping it real.

So here it goes, I'll be posting all my draft posts before the year ends. Massive #ootd , iphone photos to dump. I may or may not put words/phrases in it but i promise to tag or mention the brands (if its branded lol) of what im wearing. That's the main point of this fashion blog, anyway.

Just in time for National Philippine Streetwear Day, here's a short entry of me wearing my favorite (coz im biased like that) local brand, Fake Friends (IG: @urfakefriend). It's been an honor being part of the local scene, despite being a girl surrounded by male streetwear designers. There are days when i get frustrated but knowing i represent the female side, it makes all the hassle worth while. I've also been MIA because my laptop got busted. I have failed to fulfill my promise of posting the remaining drafts on my blog. All my files and photos are gone because i never backed them up. I am still trying to recover whatever is left of it. This is how i dress when its raining and im lazy (which is 80% of the time). Its been very gloomy lately and the heavy rain have caused little floods and puddles (literally) everywhere in the city. As much as i love rain and the cold weather it brings, I cant stand having my shoes wet. People close to me knows this haha. I guess that's the disadvantage of investing on pricey sneakers, you cant afford to wear it on rainy days. And because i live in a third world country, the internet is EXTRA slow when it rains. That's another millennial problem that i don't wanna discuss. As always, gonna leave you with another outfit photo dump, im outta here! And guys, stay dry and throw your garbage properly. Peace ~~~

Not Leather Weather

I ditched the comforts of my sneakers and cotton trousers to give way to my inner Joan Jett persona. I used to own a huge vintage leather jacket/boots/pants collection, all in different colors and in perfect condition. How i transitioned into wearing more comfy and light clothes, i can no longer remember. I guess when i sold them online i never got to restock that side of my wardrobe. Here I am now, re-visiting an old friend and I think I still got it. Maybe.

As a kid, i used to believe that in one of my past lives, I was a female rockstar. The era where it was still shocking for girls to wear all black and be bold. I still strongly believe so. I'm a very, very old and experienced soul.

With the pretty intense summer weather, its ridiculous to even go out wearing pants, how much more all black, leather clothes? I guess I have no valid reason for wearing such other than 'because i can.'

Nude colors are so easy on the eyes that sometimes just adding one pop of color does it. As much as I love matching the colors of my top and bottom (occasionally), I also cant help mixing a contrasting color to complete my look. Wearing an old favorite, culotte pants never fail to make me feel comfortable all day. I don't care if these pants are 'so last season', I'll wear them when needed. Its a staple I'll never throw out. This entire look is all about comfort so a sneaker fits the category, no doubt.

You're probably wondering how I can getaway with jackets and layering on a scorching hot summer season... Well the answer is, my shop/office is cold. I wear jacket everyday when I work but sometimes I just wear if for the photo. Calm yo sweaty balls. I kid. (can u spot my upper lip sweat?)

Another vintage jacket straight from the 90s. I bought them last year and I'm totally inlove with the colors!!! This is another rare piece of vintage Champion brand. The intricate details (more branding inside), the material and the quality is very impressive.
